USA thrash/death metal band, HEMOPTYSIS, are fresh out of the studio with Grammy Award winning producer, Ryan Greene (Megadeth, NOFX, MXPX). The result? Their debut full length album, Misanthropic Slaughter, set to be released in the Spring of 2011. Check out the title track below, along with the previously released “Shadow of Death.”

I’m pretty pumped about this, as I have somewhat of a history with the band. I first ran across HEMOPTYSIS a couple of years ago when they signed on with a promotion company I was working with, at the time. It didn’t take long for me to become a fan, not only of the music, but of the band’s professionalism and work ethics. Particularly, that of guitarist/vocalist, Masaki Murashita.
I was fortunate enough to have been able to listen to the entire album and I just can’t get enough of it! Each time I put on my headphones, something else jumps out and kicks me in the teeth.
I’ve never been a CD reviewer, so I could never do it justice. I’ll just say it’s heavy, yet melodic – blistering, yet, dynamic – evil, yet fun as hell, and it’s gonna kick your fucking ass!
Most often billed as a Thrash / Death Metal band, Hemoptysis are so much more. Building off that thrash/death core, the band flawlessly incorporates strong European elements of Black Metal, Melodic Death, and (in my ears) even good old fashioned Priest meets Maiden Heavy/Power Metal! This new CD will surely show the world just how diverse and talented they really are.
Did I mention Hemoptysis were named “Metal Band of the Year” for the second straight year at the L.A./Phoenix Music Awards? They also took home “Video of the Year” this time around for “Shadow of Death.” The video was also featured on Fuse On Demand this past May.
